1st Sept 2010

Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year. To returning parents and students, welcome back and to new families, a very warm welcome. To our Irish Medium Stream students and parents, failte.  We hope your time with us in St Joseph’s Grammar School, (SJS), is rewarding and filled with many positive experiences.

I begin the year full of optimism and I hope you share the same sentiment. We had a great year last year and I expect even better this year.  My optimism is based on the excellence and experience of our teachers and their solid preparation for the coming year.   Our students are super, they are hardworking, caring, generous and a privilege to teach.  At SJS, we pride ourselves on the high academic standards we set for our students. In addition, we place significant emphasis on spiritual development, community service, fine arts and sport. This focus on the development of the whole child within a caring environment distinguishes SJS as a remarkable place of learning.

Education here is for life and together we must make it count.   We want each child to be happy in school in order that they can achieve to the best of their potential.  It is our aim that all pupils should leave us independent of mind and well equipped with the skills they will need to excel and contribute in a caring and compassionate way in a changing world.

St. Joseph's Grammar School is an excellent school. As you read our information, I hope you will realise this for yourselves
